Welcome to North Cyprus!

Northern Cyprus, officially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), is located at the northeastern side of the island of Cyprus.

A buffer zone under the control of the United Nations stretches between Northern Cyprus and the rest of the island and divides Nicosia, the island’s largest city, into two capitals – one on each side.

With its lovely old harbour and historical artefacts Kyrenia should not be missed if you are temporary on the island. Would you decide to relocate or stay longer, it will become your evening out destination for years.

Take an opportunity to see the mountain castles –  St Hilarion and Buffavento, historic fortresses that once defended the northern coast from invaders, but have now fallen romantically into ruins.  Bellapais Abbey along with local churches and mosques reminds of the rich history that has passed through this ancient city, and there is no doubt that those interested in history will be enjoying discovering Kyrenia.

Of course, Kyrenia is more than just a museum of ancient wonders. There are miles of sandy beaches as well as shops, bazaars, restaurants and bars for a perfect holiday with every amenity you could wish for – including casinos!

Other popular resort locations in North Cyprus are Famagusta and Guzelyurt, whilst most distant getaway is Karpaz.

The language spoken in North Cyprus is Turkish, however vast majority of Cypriots speaks English.

In general, winters are relatively wet and mild with rains between October and April. The temperatures range between 8C to 18C during the day. May April and May are getting mostly green and bright due to lots of wildflowers. June, July, August and almost all of September are hot with top temperatures of around 38C plus coming down to 30-32C at night. The sea stays comfortably warm till mid October with water temperatures being very pleasant while the new season opens in late April-May.

The currency in North Cyprus is Turkish Lira. Most local businesses including supermarkets will happily accept their bills to be paid in UK Sterling, Euros and Dollars. There are many exchange offices and it makes no problem to exchange the money. International and UK Credit and Debit cards are widely accepted and used in most cases. Please to avoid blockage of your card do inform your bank that you are planning to travel.

There is an option to fly into North Cyprus Airport called Ercan (ECN) or land in South Cyprus Larnaca (LCA) airport and cross the borded between two communities on taxi. Both options are equally good. Whether you choose to arrive on a flight to Larnaca airport or Ercan airport, you can let us know in advance and we will book a taxi transfer directly to your property. In either case your taxi driver will be waiting in the airport arrivals hall, with a quick crossing the border with North Cyprus if you prefer to fly into Larnaca airport (no charge, not extra time, in most cases no leaving the car few minute standard passport control procedure at the border). The taxi driver is going to help you with the brief passport formalities required by customs officers.

If you arrive at Larnaca airport, it is possible to hire a car and drive into North Cyprus. However, you must advise your car rental firm that you intend to drive the car in North Cyprus, and you must also buy additional insurance at the border. The disadvantage of this insurance is that it is only third party. Let us know if you like to book a timely and friendly airport- to- villa private taxi transfer!

Driving in North Cyprus is on the left-hand side of the road. Please bring both parts of your full UK licence with you to be able to hire a car, remember, to hire and drive a rented car the age limit is set to 25 years old. When driving a rent-a-car all valid documents (driving licence, insurance, rental agreement) should be present at all times. When stopped by the police, everyone is treated kindly and friendly but dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drink and/or drugs, will not be accepted, resulting in significant fines. Regarding parking there are plenty of car parks with minor charge implied, especially, in central locations. Other than that, most park places will be free.

We recommend to book a taxi transfer from Larnaca airport directly to your property, and then have a rental car delivered to you on later stage, along with full insurance and 24/7 breakdown assistance included!

Your Booking Terms & Conditions

With Sparkle Homes Estates

1.Reservations
We only accept reservations submitted from our website.
Your booking is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email from us.

2. Payments
We accept payments by wire transfer or credit card.
If your arrival date is within 10 weeks, you will be billed the full amount (cancellation terms at point 16 will apply)
If your arrival date is not within 10 weeks, you will be billed non-refundable deposit of 25% of the villa cost.
We will bill directly in British Pounds.

3. Security Deposit
Unless otherwise noted the security deposit of 200.00 British Pounds will be billed along with the total amount. This will be held by us against the possibility of loss or damage to the property and contents, in excess of general wear and tear, and excessive use of utilities. The security deposit will be fully refunded within 14 days of departure subject to a villa inspection. The security deposit is refunded in full in the event of any cancellations.

4. Time of Arrival and Departure
Unless otherwise noted the property will be ready at 3:00 pm on arrival day and must be vacated by 11:00 am on the departure day.

5. Number of Guests
The number of guests staying in the property should not exceed the number specified in the booking confirmation. Under no circumstances will any additional guests be allowed to stay without prior agreement and payment.

6. Access to Property
Our staff or the owners’ representatives reserve the right to visit the property at any time for a courtesy visit or to undertake essential maintenance work, pool cleaning, gardening, routine inspections and emergency repairs.

7. Public Services and Liability
Neither we nor the owners will accept any liability for the breakdown of public services including water and electricity or in respect of any equipment, plant machinery or appliances in the property.

8. Building Work and Liability
North Cyprus is a popular area for new property construction. It may happen that building or construction work, both by government authorities and private individuals, may be occurring near your villa during your stay. Neither we nor the owners will accept any liability for such building or construction work. Should your villa happen to be in a building site and you consider moving into an alternative accommodation please inform us immediately after arrival.

9. Insurance
You must ensure that your party is adequately insured for cancellation, ill health, personal belongings, public liability etc. Neither we nor the owners will be held responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damage to property or person, however caused.

10. Covid-19
You must ensure that your party has passed all required tests and have adequate and sufficient medical permission for travelling to North Cyprus. Neither we nor the owners will be held responsible for any delays or travel schedule amendments occurring due to your Covid-19 testing.

11. Airport Transfers
You are responsible for informing us about flight delays. Although the taxi driver is likely to wait for you, we cannot guarantee that they will do so. In the event that your flight is delayed and we have not been informed beforehand, and the taxi driver leaves the airport, we are unable to refund your airport transfer cost since we will have to pay the taxi driver.

12. Pets
Animals/pets are strictly not permitted at the villas. If a pet has been in the property, there will be an automatic security deposit charge, to cover the cost of professional cleaning.

13. Baby Equipment
Some of our villas do provide baby equipment. Sometimes this service can be provided with an additional cost. Should you require to baby equipment please mention this under the remarks section of our booking form to enable us to confirm the cost to you.

14. Internet Access
We cannot accept any liability for the speed or reliability of internet connection where advertised.

15. Amendments/Alterations by the Client
We will do our best to accommodate any changes but cannot guarantee to do so, as this may depend on the availability.

16. Cancellation by the Client
Cancellation of your booking must be done in writing and made by the person who filled the booking form.
The cancellation charges will depend on the time your written notification is received and it will be levied as below:

Security Deposit
The security deposit is refunded in full in the event of any cancellations.

17. Cancellation or Amendment by Sparkle Homes Estates
In the unlikely event that we or the owners have to cancel the accommodation booking, your credit card will be refunded the full amount immediately.

18. Accuracy of Information
All information supplied is correct and accurate to the best of our knowledge. We cannot, however, be held responsible for changes made that we are not made aware of or are indeed beyond our control. All distances and measurements given are approximate and should be used as a guide only.

19. Jurisdiction
This contract is subject and should be interpreted under the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Courts.
